In my circle of stamping pals, we all take turns hosting stamping parties. But one member of the group requires special party arrangements. She's a military wife and lives in base housing. Since 9/11, entry onto military bases has been restricted, but not impossible. So our friend hosted a party last week. She had to have us enter at a specific gate, and she had to call ahead to tell the guards who was coming and what kind of car to look for.

I envisioned being detained by the MP's for the entire evening, but I was waved on through without difficulty. No one else had any difficulty gaining entrance either, and the evening was fun and productive, as are all of our gatherings.

And then it was time to go, and all I had to do was go out the same way I came in. But things don't look quite the same in the dark in the reverse direction, and I managed to miss a crucial turn, which I didn't realize 'til after I'd passed it. So I ended up driving around a restricted military base late at night, and those visions of being detained by the MP's for the evening loomed again. But I retraced my steps and found the correct turn and exited the base without incident.

I've always liked a challenge with my stamping projects :)
