I have an eleven-year-old nephew who's into baseball in a big way. He plays in a Cal Ripken league and they're currently involved in a tournament playing teams from South Philly to Brooklyn.

We attended one of the games on Monday, and it was a good one. The plays were well-executed and the players were at their best.

The nephew distinguished himself with a stand-up double that had to be chased all the way to the left-field fence.

Even the finish was thrilling. The nephew's team was up by one run in the bottom of the last inning, and the opposing batter lined one into centerfield. The centerfielder made a perfect throw to the plate, and the catcher made a perfect catch to tag out the runner trying to get home from second base. And the crowd went wild.

I'm getting to like this game :)
