I decided the bathroom needed a change. We remodeled it four years ago and picked a decor with cool earth tones. And it's pretty much remained that way ever since.

But with the relatively cheap purchase of a shower curtain, bath mats and towels, it can be converted to an entirely different look.

So I picked of some of the aforementioned relatively cheap items and transformed the cool earth tone habitat into one of warm, sunny colors. Shower curtain and towels of white, yellow and orange. I even bought an extra shower curtain and made window curtains from it.

I added a few new accessories (new wastebasket and tissue dispenser) and it's like a whole new room. Fun and easy.

We're still getting used to it. The cats (to whom vibrant colors mean nothing) are unphased. It's still the same room to them.

But it reminds me of the sunny decor of the beach houses we rent in the summer.
