I have pretty much reclaimed the Computer Room (our third bedroom in which our computer gear resides). It had become a clutter magnet, which is handy for keeping clutter out of the other rooms, but it had gotten to the point where there was just enough room to sit at the computer; all other floor space was unavailable. So I trashed and donated and purchased a closet organizer and door rack, and a storage cabinet for a corner of the room where a plant table once stood. And after a full and determined weekend, the room is actually livable once more.
The Husband is working on the spare bedroom, which was not as bad as the computer room, but still a clutter problem. He still has a way to go, but at least you can walk across the room without tripping over stacks of ten-year-old magazines.
We've donated lots of clothes and furniture to date, but we're far from done. We have a family room downstairs that hasn't seen family use in years. We now refer to as "the basement." It has furniture, carpeting, an old piano, a tv and stereo, but you can't see any of that for all the stuff piled in there. As we cleaned out other rooms, the questionable items (discard or not discard) ended up in the family room for future consideration.
And the future will be arriving momentarily.
