Well, I survived my first full work day of the new year. It was pretty must a skeleton crew operation for the last two weeks, and I was prepared for a backlog that would suddenly demand attention. But not so. Things had gone fairly smoothly. It was actually a relaxing day :)
I'm considering a new computer. My old computer recently decided to ignore both my cd drives. The fact that both drives are simultaneously invisible suggests a more deep-seated problem than a faulty drive.
The computer is five years old, and has become bogged down with numerous junk. It takes forever to boot up. So rather than try to clean and repair, I'm thinking it's time to start anew.
Trouble is, I don't know what I want. Do I keep the old square monitor or go with a new wide-screen? Do I need a big hard drive (I already have a big external drive) or more memory? And am I ready for Vista? Will my old stuff work on Vista (it doesn't have a great track record)?
Stay tuned for updates.
