Feb. 15, 2008 Friday

Last weekend we decided to get away from it all. But not too far. We spent the weekend 65 miles away at the Jersey shore. Some friends have a house there, and generously offered it to us.

Now you wouldn't expect much from a Jersey shore town in February, but we spent a couple hours wandering the boardwalk, and there was a nice crowd doing the same. Nobody was wearing shorts and sandals of course.

A lot of the stores were open too, on the boardwalk in the middle of February. It was a pleasant day.

We had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants (which was still pretty crowded).

The next day found us at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, where the Husband surrendered $60 to the slot machines. I managed to break even. We had dinner at the Tropicana, then headed home.

It was less than 48 hours "away from it all," but it was sufficient.

Now we're back.
