Greetings from "down the shore" (that's a NewJerseyism). I'm with my sisters and their families this week. We rented a rather spacious house a couple blocks from the beach.

The Husband is dealing with a rather heavy workload and is not with us (he's not a beach person anyway), although he did join us on Monday, as did my father. That was a crowded house that day. The Husband and I slept on the pull-out sofa bed in the living room.

We picked a good week - it was oppressively hot last week, but it's cooler now (relatively), and it's really comfortable at night (we have three porches/decks).

The house is a three-story split level with six bedrooms, three bathrooms and a really huge living room/kitchen. It's well-equipped with four flat-panel tv's and two dvd players, plus surround-sound stereo. This seems to be the model for new construction down here. A lot of the old homes that accommodate no more than two or three families are being demolished and replaced with these large three-story multi-family structures. Every summer there are more of them.

Hunky and Dorie would love exploring these places.

Miss you guys. Be home soon.
