Tax day. Always glad when it's gone.

Taxes were enough trouble when we both worked regular jobs and had our taxes withheld. Now I work a regular job plus I earn extra income doing stamping demonstrations, plus the Husband works freelance and has to pay estimated taxes based on his best guess as to what he'll be making this year. Then he has to rely on each of his customers to supply a 1099 tax form to verify it.

Fortunately there is Turbo Tax for Home and Business. It gets us through the 1099's and estimated payments while figuring out my second income as it fits in with my first income.

And it does so in a way that I can understand. I love Turbo Tax. I can't see doing all this with pencil and paper.

This is also the first year we've relied on a Health Savings Account for our medical expenses. Turns out there are tax breaks with that too (mostly at the state level).

And we filed electronically (again, thanks, Turbo Tax) and got our confirmation e-mail that both the Federal and State returns have been received. All very tidy.

Now we just wait for our refund. Did I mention my appreciation of Turbo Tax?
