Today is a big day - we've been waiting for it for five months.

We're picking up the Husband's vintage sports car from the restoration shop. He's spent a whole lotta bucks on it, and he's looking forward to driving it again after 23 years.

I'm looking forward to it too. That was his only car when we first started dating 34 years ago. A year later I bought my own Triumph - a '75 Spitfire. It was a smaller, lighter, more delicate Triumph that the Husband's TR-6. But it was fun. Just impractical.

Still, I kept it for six years. By then the Husband had bought another car for daily use and kept his Triumph for special occasions.

I now have a Capri convertible as my second car for special occasions. It's very sporty and much more practical than the Spitfire. And it's 17 years old with 100,000 miles on it.

It'll be my vintage sports car in a few years :)
