Hunky is once again losing interest in the giggle toy. We still hear it in the middle of the night, and in the morning, just before feeding time. But the giggling has reverted to a tolerable level that will be gradually tapering off.

Here in New Jersey we celebrate a two-week period that we call Spring. It usually begins shortly after the last chilly day in April (it was a little late this year). Then there are balmy breezes and comfortable days (and nights), which are easy to get used to. But just as we do, humidity arrives. And stays. And Spring is over.

So Spring came and went on schedule. We had the windows open and enjoyed some cross ventilation. Hunky and Dorie loved to bunch up in front of an open window and catch a breeze.

But then came the heat and humidity. The breezes departed, the windows were closed and the air conditioning was activated for a long, hot summer. And Hunky and Dorie have lost their windowsill privileges.

Which means the giggle toy will soon be receiving renewed attention.
