There are no Blue Moons this year. That's very rare. A Blue Moon is the second occurence of a full moon in a month. But because the Earth is constantly rotating and the Moon is constantly orbiting, the actual occurence of a full moon is a fleeting thing, and the exact moment of a full moon is dependendent on your geographical location on Earth.

The moon is only considered full for the briefest moment. After that, the fullness begins to wane. Despite appearances, a full moon is in most cases not actually full, except during that brief moment.

So officially there are no Blue Moon moments this year. At least not in Greenwich, England, where such things are calculated. But there could be in the other 23 time zones, dependfing on the exact moment of fullness, but that's another set of calculations.

There must be some reason why all this is important.
