 I
was born during the Summer of Love, 1967. I was 23 at the time.
I spent the next several years defining myself, and setting personal
ideals and values. These went out the window when I joined the
business world. For 12 years I was the executive in charge of
advertising for a multi-million dollar corporation, working excessive,
uncompensated hours. One day I said "Enough! I'm not doing
this any more!" That the company was going belly-up at the
time influenced my decision.
A milestone was achieved
when I got a job writing a column for the local daily. Besides
fulfilling a goal and providing creative expression and emotional
rewards, it also provided an income insufficient to support a
family of gnats.
So I went into Desktop
Publishing. And liked it. And here I am. It took 12 years before
I was making the same money that I was making in 1989, but I'm
happier'n a pig in poop. I am now working freelance from home
and enjoying it.
