Hey, where'd the summer go?
Time passes much more quickly with age. When I was a school kid, summer vacations seemed to last forever (especially when I had a summer job).
But once I began working for a living, summer vacations were a thing of the past. One week flowed into the next, and the passage of time was not all that apparent.
And when that happens, suddenly you're old.
So now I work freelance out of my home, and the work does not arrive on a steady basis, so the days no longer run together. Except during summers.Summer means lotsa work (I'm not complaining), starting right after school lets out for the summer, and continues relentlessly until a few weeks before school is back in session., which would be just about now.
So in about one more week, after two months of 12-hour days, I can start to get back to normal, whatever that is.
In my case, it's life without summers.
