Apr. 7, 2008 Monday
Last Thursday was a clear and sunny day, a good day to drive a vintage Triumph home from its 6-month stay at the restoration shop. I hadn't driven it in 23 years, but it seemed like that had only been yesterday. It was great. But the next morning it didn't want to start, and I panicked. Until I remembered that it had a manual choke (remember them?).
But there is more to be done. I spent Sunday online looking for parts I needed to redo the interior. I found what I needed, but I haven't really decided where to start yet.
And I have to return it to the shop to have the real axles replaced sometime in the next year or two. And the windshield is chipped. And the paint is faded. And the bumpers need new chrome. That'll keep me occupied for the next few years.
For now, I'll just have to enjoy the drive.
