My Triumph work has been completed (my '73 Triumph TR-6 that has been at the restoration shop for the last five months).Back in September, they sent me an 11-page list of things that needed repair. I could pick and choose what I wanted them to do. I concentrated on the serious mechanicals and put off the minor stuff 'til later. One of the things I put off was replacing the wiper motor.
They said I could pick it up last Friday. Except it was raining; they had to remind me that I had chosen to skip the wiper motor repair. And there was rain predicted for the next ten days.
Yesterday the weather service revised the forcast to sunny for this Thursday. I quickly set up a tentative date for a Thursday pickup.
The total cost is almost $4,000 overbudget. Which doesn't surprise me - it's a 35-year-old car that hasn't been made since 1976.
But it does mean it'll probably be a while before I get around to that wiper motor.
