The Squirrel in Chipmunk's Clothing. Opie brought home a large, squirrel-sized, squirrel-tailed chipmunk that presented an evening of adventure as the whole family attempted to catch it and send it back to the woods (success was achieved at 1:37 a.m.). Because of its markings, the Husband logged it as a chipmunk, but because of its size, tail and nasty disposition, to Opie, it was a squirrel. And to the rest of the world too, apparently. A deluge of e-mail followed for days, demanding that Opie receive his due. Ultimately there were responses from every continent (except Antarctica -- gimme a break!). So the Opie Project bows to the court of public opinion and acknowledges that Opie has indeed captured his first squirrel.
