Hunky: .The house next door has only one window on the side that faces us, and it's directly across from our big bedroom.

Dorie:  We used to crowd ourselves onto the window sill each morning for about an hour of non-verbal communication with the cat next door, who was perched on his window sill. We carried on this tradition every day for several months.

Hunky:  We first spotted him as young kittens, and the fact that he looked much like me was intriguing. I'm sure he was as intrigued by my likeness as well.

Dorie:  Then one day he was gone. We didn't really understand why. Something to do with old age. There were two other cats that live there, but they rarely chose to take his spot on the window sill. If they did, they didn't stay long.

Hunky: . Now there're two new kittens next door - very cute kittens (but then, aren't all kittens cute?). One is all black, the other is gray and white.

Dorie:  ..And they have taken to perching on the Window sill and watching us with those big inquisitive eyes that kittens are famous for.

Hunky: . So we're back to the non-verbal communication hour each morning. We don't know much about them yet ...

Dorie:  ..... but we'll keep watching.
