Hunky: .Clocks and calendars are human control devices. Humans are their slaves.
Dorie: ..Humans wear slave bracelets on their wrists that control their movements. They call them watches. They can be basic or fancy, depending on the slave's status. Those wearing the fancier ones are generally more a slave to time than those with the basic utilitarian model.
Hunky: .Humans must consult these devices on a regular basis or they will die. Their master is an amalgamous supreme being that is accepted on faith by the slaves who do not wish to incur its wrath.Dorie: ..The time being can be a cruel master. A couple weeks ago it stole an hour away while the slaves were asleep (okay, it gives it back in six months, but then it takes it away again six months after that!). The slaves had to frantically reset all the slave bracelets and master clocks, and woe be to the slave who did not comply!
Hunky: .Humans could free themselves of this bondage if they really wanted to. They have internal clocks, just like felines. But they've forgotten how to use them. But they could re-learn if they wanted to.
Dorie: ..But they won't.
