Hunky: .The progress of human beings has been measured by the acquisition of knowledge. It's a survival instinct. All animals teach their young how to survive. Humans are exposed to the educational pursuit of knowledge for the first 20 years of their lives to learn how best to make their way into the world.

Dorie: ..After that they watch television.

Hunky: .Once they are removed from the exposure to education, they are own their own. There are sources for them to acquire more knowledge, but they have to choose to find them. There are libraries and schools and newspapers and the internet. They even refer to this period of time as the information age.

Dorie:  But humans are passive creatures. Their efforts to acquire knowledge are limited to the "on" button of the tv remote. They mistake low-quality entertainment for education. So when they reach a point in their lives that requires a decision based on what they've learned, they can't differentiate between useful knowledge and a bad story line. They base real-world decisions on unreal fiction.

Hunky: .If you doubt any of this, try not watching tv for a week and see how different the world seems without it.

Dorie:  You'll be pleasantly surprised.
