Hunky: . Last night was family night.Dorie: That's when the Husband and Wife sit in the living room and watch the tv box. When it becomes apparent that they're going to be there for a while, we join them.
Hunky: . So last night was cut out rubber stamps night. The Wife's latest shipment had arrived and they had to be assembled. The stamps arrive on sheets of rubber, with plain wooden blocks and labels.
Dorie: They started off each with separate sets of stamps, but the Husband was too slow at cutting out the stamps, so the Wife took over cutting and affixing the stamps to the wood blocks (the rubber was adhesive-backed), then passed them on to the Husband for label attachment.
Hunky: . That proved to be more efficient, and they made progress. The tv was tuned to PBS, and there was a special on the restoration of the Parthenon. They then switched to House, MD, while the stamp assembly continued unabated.
Dorie: Our job? We collected the rubber scraps and paper backings and strewed them around the living room. And we did it well.
