Hunky: . Out of 45,000 species of animals, humans are practically the only species that walks upright as a matter of form. They evolved into an upright mode to give them access to more food and dominion over relatively larger but quadropedic species.Dorie: Their "highly-developed brains" told them this was a good idea, but they pay the price with numerous chronic back problems that the other species avoid.
Hunky: They also decided it was a good idea to speak. As a result they ended up with a voice box that permits them to choke to death on food. Not a problem with non-speaking species.
Dorie: The more highly-developed species (cats) acquired the ability to leap several times its height to achieve the same results as humans without the backaches.
Hunky: And cats are able to emulate all but a few of the sounds of human speech, without fear of choking. And we communicate just fine with what we have.
Dorie: But achieving face-to-face parity with an upright human through the use of our leaping skills frequently generates an agitated voice-box response when we land on some sacred piece of furniture or other valued item they leave in our paths.
Hunky: So while humans flagrantly remain upright, they object to our efforts to meet them eye-to-eye.
Dorie: But the more advanced feline species has learned to accommodate them. We just wait for them to recline then jump on their chests.
