Hunky:
It used to be we had the daytime to ourselves. Mornings were spent chasing each other around the house and getting into things, and afternoons were spent napping. .But now the Husband is always home. Not that he spends the time playing with us. He sits in the spare bedroom all day, pecking away at that computer thing.

Dorie:  When the Husband started hanging around, we figured he'd join in the morning fun too. But he didn't. So we still chase each other and get into things without his help.

Hunky:   And we still nap in the afternoon, but we do so on the spare bed while he pecks away nearby at that machine.

Dorie:   Then the Wife disappeared. She and I used to play together in the mornings - I'd hide out in her closet while she tried to coax me out. But then she left for a while and, with the Husband ignoring us, there was only Hunky to play with.

Hunky:  I think I resent that.

Dorie:  I only meant our routines keep changing. But now the Wife has returned, so now we change back.

Hunky:   At least we have each other. Give me a dull old routine any day. Race you to the kitchen?

Dorie:   I'm already gone.
