Hunky: . Okay, the way we understand it, tomorrow is the last day of the year. But then another year immediately begins.

Dorie:  So we still don't quite understand what the point of that is (although humans tend to make a big deal out of it). How can you tell when one year ends when another one begins right after it?

Hunky:  Well first, you'll need a television ...

Dorie:  It seems that where the old year ends and the new one begins is on top of a building with a big bright ball in New York City, and a million people show up to witness it.

Hunky: . Except the building is tall and they can't see it from the street. So they bring in television cameras to make sure no one will miss it.

Dorie:  And why is it important that no one miss it?

Hunky:   So they'll all be happy.

Dorie:   Hence, happy New Year to all!
